This past weekend was the big Prostart Michigan competition. My schools team competed their hearts out. They weren't scared, nervous, or worried. They were calm and ready to attack! I coached them and helped them out as much as I could. Chef (our instructor) was so excited and full of joy, he started crying. The year before this competition our team took 5th place out of 18 teams. This year we took 3rd place out of 18 teams. Even though we didn't get the win, our team truly won for themselves. Here is a picture of our Appetizer, Entree, and Desert.

You know what really grinds my gears.. When teachers pick on you for no apparent reason. Like go out of there way just to get you in trouble. For instance yesterday, I asked my teacher if I can go speak to my guidance counselor for the remainder of the period. There was only 7 minutes left, and i had completed all the work we were suppose to do. She flat out says yes, so I go there and my counselor was busy. There was like 2 minutes left now, so I figured I would just come back tomorrow.  Since there was only 2 minutes left why go back to class when by the time I would get there class would be out. So I waited downstairs for school to let out. Then i come back the next day and she marked me down for "cutting class". This school is retarded and so are teachers who think they know everything through an email. Thanks you, come again.

So a while ago i was expelled from school. Everything was taken away from me. My trip to nationals for FCCLA was stripped from me. The culinary school i was going to was gone. I didn't know what to really do. Cooking is really the only thing i know how to do well. But now i am back! I'm making straight A's in school now. Closer to a lot of different people who i didn't know before. I can't return to my culinary school this year, but something even better was offered. My head chef or instructor has offered me to come out to the culinary school and coach some of his students. These students won in regional's and now are going to states; the same competitions i were in. So he said since i  had experience i could come out there and teach them. I am so excited for this journey i am about to have out there with these students.

This blog is for helping me associate with other cooks or chefs out there. I will be keeping you updated with my success in the culinary field. I got to lots of competitions and do lots of volunteer work to get as much experience I can before going to the next level; college. So let me tell you about myself, I am a junior, age 17 and I am very self expressive. My goals in life right now are to attend Johnson & Wales University in Milan, Italy. I am hoping to take my education and run my own 5-Star hotel; being the owner and the executive chef. So far I have won a total of 3 medals for culinary arts. The first one I had taken 3rd place out of 25 people in SkillsUSA regionals; it was also my very first medal I have ever received. With it I
received scholarships to Ferris State and Baker College. The second medal my teammate Shane and I took 1st out of 10 teams of 3 in FCCLA States. Which means we get to compete in Nationals this summer. The third was SkillsUSA States, I took 2nd place by 5 lowsy points. What came along with that is what changed my future. I received two different scholarships to Johnson & Wales and another to Baker College. There are so many opportunities opening up for me with my talent in Culinary, and I just want to learn more. I cant get enough of it. I will keep you posted on upcoming events and share things that I am learning about in my class.
